Haaland's campaign for governor of New Mexico has gained significant traction, with over 10,000 individuals signing up to volunteer. The announcement comes with less than a year remaining until the primary scheduled for June 2, 2026.
Felicia Salazar, spokesperson for the Haaland campaign, stated: “New Mexicans are excited about Deb’s vision for the future and are lining up to help get her elected. The grassroots momentum behind this campaign is absolutely incredible, and it’s only growing stronger by the day. New Mexicans are ready for Deb—and she’s ready to lead.”
Supporters from all counties in New Mexico have shown interest in participating in the campaign. The average online contribution stands at $32.42, reflecting widespread grassroots enthusiasm. More than 9,600 New Mexicans have contributed online, with total fundraising exceeding $4 million.
Salazar added that Haaland's message of "affordability and strengthening New Mexico in the face of threats from the Trump administration" is resonating throughout the state. She emphasized that Haaland will continue to expand her movement as the campaign progresses.
Recently, Haaland announced via social media several key endorsements: former Albuquerque Mayor Marty Chavez, former State Auditor Brian Colón, Albuquerque City Councilor Joaquin Baca, Las Cruces City Councilor Becky Corran, former State Senator Siah Correra Hemphill, former Valencia County Chair Pam Cordova, and Common Defense—a national veterans organization—have all pledged their support.
