The Santa Fe Opera announces 2025 opening nights broadcasts and ticket giveaway with KHFM

The Santa Fe Opera has announced its continued collaboration with 95.5 KHFM Classical Public Radio for the fifth consecutive year to provide free radio broadcasts of its 2025 Opening Nights. This initiative includes a ticket giveaway for a live opera experience alongside KHFM hosts.

According to the Santa Fe Opera, these broadcasts will feature live-recorded performances from the 2025 Season's opening nights, allowing audiences in New Mexico and beyond to enjoy operas such as "La bohème," "The Marriage of Figaro," "Rigoletto," "The Turn of the Screw," and "Die Walküre." The broadcasts will air on specific dates at 6:00 pm MDT and remain available for streaming for 30 days on both the Santa Fe Opera and KHFM websites.

Listeners can access these performances through KHFM’s FM frequencies across New Mexico or via online streaming. Commentary will be provided in English and Spanish by soprano and KHFM host Kathlene Ritch, along with tenor and Santa Fe Opera Chief Artistic Advisor David Lomelí. The broadcasts are co-produced by KHFM and the Santa Fe Opera, supported by the James R. Seitz, Jr. Fund for Broadcasting, with live audio engineering by Kabby Sound Studios.

In addition to the broadcasts, there is an Opening Nights Ticket Giveaway offering winners the chance to join KHFM hosts for tailgating and live performances. The 2025 Season features both new productions and returning classics directed by notable artists, with tickets currently available through the Santa Fe Opera website.

The Santa Fe Opera welcomes approximately 85,000 guests annually to its open-air Crosby Theatre. Since its inception in 1957, it has produced over 2,000 performances of 180 operas, including numerous American and world premieres. Committed to advancing opera through a diverse repertoire, the company emphasizes equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility while supporting artists through its Apprentice Programs. It also offers rentals, event spaces, and advertising opportunities to sustain its mission and artistic growth.
