Today, Deb Haaland attended the Albuquerque Memorial Day Ceremony to honor those who died serving the United States. Accompanying her was retired Air Force Master Sergeant Michael Pattin.

Haaland, who is running for governor of New Mexico, emphasized her commitment to veterans by advocating for job opportunities, affordable housing, and healthcare for military service members returning home.

During her tenure as Congresswoman for New Mexico, Haaland worked on increasing resources for VA centers in the state, advocated for safe military housing, and expanded uniform availability for pregnant women in the military. As Secretary of the Interior, she ensured veterans and their families had access to public lands and promoted free annual and lifetime passes for current US military personnel and dependents, Gold Star Families, and US military veterans.
