The Natural Resources and Environmental Law (NREL) Program at the School of Law has been awarded an A+ rating by the National Jurist’s PreLaw Magazine this spring. The institution is among only 16 schools across the United States to achieve this distinction in the field of environmental law.
Gabriel Pacyniak, Director of the NREL Program, expressed enthusiasm about the accolade: “We are thrilled for this continued recognition of our Natural Resources and Environmental Law Program, especially because we added Professor Warigia Bowman to our faculty this year and we are welcoming back Professor Cliff Villa from a leave of absence in the Environmental Protection Agency leadership. With the support of Dean Camille Carey, we are also continuing to expand our offering. Next year we are planning a new summer field course and adding courses covering utility regulation and agricultural law. And it reflects in our students—we will be tying our record this year with 16 students graduating with the NREL Certificate.”
The program's leadership is keen on expanding its academic offerings, as evidenced by plans to introduce a summer field course. Additionally, the institution is set to add coursework in utility regulation and agricultural law, further enhancing its curriculum. The program will see 16 students graduating with the NREL Certificate, matching a previous record.
