Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee has meticulously tracked the key votes of New Mexico’s congressional delegation during the First Session of the 118th Congress. The results are not just disappointing,; they are alarming. Our elected officials have consistently failed to stand for the values that protect life, religious liberty, women, families, national sovereignty, education, and our steadfast ally, Israel.
This scorecard is more than numbers—it is a statement about where our representatives stand on the issues that shape the moral and cultural fabric of our nation. The results speak for themselves:
Name Score (0=worst, 100=best)
Sen. Martin Heinrich (D) 0
Sen. Ben Ray Lujan (D) 0
Rep. Melanie Stansbury (D-District 1) 27
Rep. Gabe Vasquez (D-District 2) 34
Rep. Teresa Leger Fernandez (D-District 3) 27
These numbers reflect a blatant disregard for the principles and convictions held by those of us in Concerned Women for America of New Mexico and countless other New Mexicans. Every vote cast should be a reflection of the people—not a rubber stamp for the Democratic Party’s radical agenda. Yet time and again, our congressional delegation has marched in lockstep with policies that undermine the sanctity of life, weaken religious freedom, devalue women, threaten family integrity, compromise national sovereignty, distort education, and erode support for Israel.
Is this the leadership New Mexico deserves? Do we want representatives who blindly follow the dictates of party elites rather than listen to the voices of the people they were elected to serve? New Mexicans deserve better.
We deserve leaders with the courage to defend life. Leaders who protect our freedoms. Leaders who prioritize families, champion women’s rights, uphold the integrity of education, and stand unapologetically with Israel.
The Second Session of the 118th Congress continued to expose this same troubling trend. The question is: Will New Mexico voters accept more of the same, or will we demand a delegation that truly represents our values?
The choice is ours.
