NMSSA announces pro-second amendment rally in Santa Fe

The New Mexico Shooting Sports Association (NMSSA) has announced a pro-Second Amendment rally set for March 8, 2025, at 10 a.m. on the east side of the New Mexico State Capitol in Santa Fe. The event is open to supporters of Second Amendment rights.

According to NMSSA and the New Mexico Firearms Industry Association, the rally aims to underscore the significance of safeguarding constitutional rights for law-abiding gun owners. The organizers encourage participation from all who support the right to keep and bear arms, as said on their Facebook webpage.

The Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution guarantees the right of individuals to keep and bear arms. It reads: "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed," according to Congress.gov.

The New Mexico Firearms Industry Association supports businesses within the firearms industry while educating both the public and lawmakers about pertinent issues. The association focuses on keeping its members informed about legislation, promoting responsible firearm ownership, and encouraging recreational shooting and hunting. It collaborates with other groups to ensure a safe and legal firearms industry and actively engages in efforts to maintain compliance with laws. Additionally, it addresses challenges such as legislative proposals that could negatively impact the industry and gun owners by providing updates on these issues.

The NMSSA is a 501c4 non-profit organization dedicated to promoting social welfare, public safety, and national defense. Its mission includes educating citizens on safe firearm handling, supporting law enforcement and military training, encouraging responsible firearm ownership, and fostering sportsmanship. NMSSA also organizes competitive shooting events, works on wildlife conservation efforts, and serves as the official state association of the National Rifle Association (NRA). Furthermore, it collaborates with other reputable groups on firearms safety, marksmanship, and recreational shooting.
