On Monday night, a series of explosions occurred in Nageezi, New Mexico, involving 36 tankers that were storing crude oil and wastewater. The incident led to the evacuation of around 10 families from the area. As of this morning, reports indicate that the fire resulting from the explosions has not yet been extinguished.
Lena Moffitt, Director of Sierra Club Beyond Dirty Fuels, issued a statement in response to the situation.
