Derrick Toledo from the Sierra Club's Rio Grande Chapter discussed his experiences and education background that led him to advocate for clean energy. Keely Scheffler of UNM shared her involvement in climate justice campaigns aimed at transitioning toward renewable energy on campus.

The hearing participants argue that weakening these protections would negatively impact Americans facing climate change costs and challenge industries competing in a cleaner-energy economy.
