Albuquerque Reads, a program initiated by the Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce, is actively seeking volunteers to join their team of tutors. The program focuses on assisting young students in developing essential reading and writing skills.
The organization is inviting new volunteers to participate in their efforts. Tutors have the opportunity to work at one of three Albuquerque Public Schools’ Title I institutions: Atrisco, Bel Air, and Whittier elementary schools. Volunteers commit 90 minutes per week, with an option for those who prefer a more flexible schedule to volunteer once a month as part of a team.
Albuquerque Public Schools provides comprehensive training for all volunteers before they begin their tutoring sessions. This support continues throughout the academic year to ensure effective one-on-one tutoring experiences.
Interested individuals are encouraged to visit ABQReads.com for more information on how to become a tutor.
