New Mexico has introduced its Home and Appliance Rebates (HEAR) program, aimed at making energy-saving home improvements and appliances more affordable for eligible residents. The program launch saw attendance from various partner organizations, including executive director Joan Brown, osf, and Rev. Clara Sims.

The HEAR program is supported by investments from the Biden-Harris administration’s Inflation Reduction Act. It will be implemented in phases, beginning with do-it-yourself insulation available at participating retailers. Low-income owners of single-family homes can receive up to $1,600 for these home improvements when they purchase materials at designated retail stores.
