The New Mexico Business Coalition (NMBC) has announced the 2024 Heroes Banquet in collaboration with Rebound New Mexico (RNM). The event will honor the families of fallen first responders who died in the line of duty this year.
The "Some Gave a Lot / Some Gave It All" banquet will be held on Oct. 3 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Albuquerque. According to NMBC, the event will honor Officers Jonah Hernandez and Justin Hare for their sacrifices, and their families will receive awards. Community leaders, a Veteran of the Year, and Sheriff Mark Cage, the keynote speaker, will also be recognized. The banquet will include a silent auction, and proceeds will fund scholarships for children of fallen first responders and support the 100 Club charity. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the event runs from 6 to 8 p.m.
According to NMBC President Carla Sonntag, "The banquet is a great way for New Mexicans to honor and show appreciation for some of New Mexico’s finest. We are blessed to have these great heroes who risk their lives to keep the rest of us safe."
Founded in 2009, RNM offers training programs aimed at youth in homeless shelters or economically challenged families, developing their critical thinking, communication, and job interview skills. RNM collaborates with other groups to provide education and support, helping individuals reduce dependence on government assistance and achieve greater self-sufficiency and economic stability.
NMBC advocates for business owners, employees, and all New Mexicans by ensuring their voices are heard by elected officials. The organization provides voter education, informs the public about state issues and legislative efforts, and works to unite New Mexicans through calls to action and resources. Its mission includes promoting job-creating policies, holding elected officials accountable, and maximizing the value of its assets and donations while working responsibly.
