The City of Las Cruces will hold a Shopping Cart Ordinance Overview Meeting to help local businesses navigate the compliance components of the Shopping Cart Ordinance.
Las Cruces City Council recently adopted the Shopping Cart Ordinance, making the removal of shopping carts from business premises a violation of municipal code. Stores that provide shopping carts for customer use will be affected. To remain in compliance, store owners must take action to reduce the removal of shopping carts from their premises and facilitate the retrieval of removed carts. This meeting aims to answer questions and review the process for creating a shopping cart plan.
The meeting is scheduled from 6 – 8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, in Las Cruces City Hall Council Chambers, 700 N. Main Street. Community Development and Las Cruces Police Department staff will be present to answer questions.
More information on the Shopping Cart Ordinance can be found on the City’s website.
This meeting will also be televised on Comcast Cable channel 20 and the City’s YouTube Channel.
