The Las Cruces International Film Festival (LCIFF) will host its first concert this fall, headlined by Los Lonely Boys. The band, known for their unique "Texican rock ’n’ roll" style, will perform on Friday, Sept. 20, at the Grapevine Plaza & Event Center in Las Cruces.
Ross Marks, New Mexico State University professor and LCIFF executive director, stated, “It has long been the goal of the Las Cruces International Film festival to expand into music. Many great festivals offer music as part of their experience. We are extremely excited to partner with the Grapevine Plaza & Event Center and Los Lonely Boys for our first-ever concert.”
The concert will commence at 7 p.m., with food and drinks available. General admission tickets are priced at $65 if purchased in advance or $80 at the door. VIP tickets are available for $150 per ticket or $1,000 for a private table of eight, which includes front-stage seating and a drink server. VIP ticket holders will also have access to a private reception before the concert. Tickets can be purchased at https://tickets.holdmyticket.com/tickets/436575?tc=hmt.
Los Lonely Boys hail from San Angelo, Texas, and blend elements of rock and roll, Texas blues, brown-eyed soul, country, and Tejano music in their performances.
Since its inception nine years ago, LCIFF's audience has grown from approximately 2,000 attendees to over 12,000 this year. The festival has attracted 1,500 filmmakers and around 80,000 visitors to Las Cruces over its duration. Marks has trained more than 700 students through NMSU’s Creative Media Institute to produce the festival from start to finish. The 10th annual festival is scheduled for April 9-13, 2025.
Proceeds from the Los Lonely Boys concert will benefit both the film festival and Barbara Hubbard’s ACTS student scholarship program at NMSU.
Los Lonely Boys' journey from San Angelo to international fame began when brothers Henry, Jojo, and Ringo Garza formed the band as teenagers. They signed with a major label and achieved success with a hit single that launched them into stardom. Over their career spanning 17 years, they have sold 2.5 million records, won a Grammy Award and received five additional Grammy nominations.
Marks added: “Los Lonely Boys are an iconic and soulful band. Their music has touched people around the world. Their sound particularly resonates with the people of Las Cruces. They are the perfect performers for our first music concert."
