Residents on Madero Road and Parker Road will experience a water outage from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Tuesday, August 13, 2024. This outage will allow the City of Las Cruces Water Department/MVH to replace two mainline water valves at the intersections of Sixth Street and Madero Road, and Sixth Street and Parker Road.

Adjacent areas may also be affected by this outage. These streets are located in District 4 of Las Cruces, represented by Johana Bencomo.

Residents might notice discolored water due to iron, manganese, and calcium deposits. Although the water remains safe to drink, city officials recommend waiting for it to clear before washing laundry. The discoloration should disappear within 24 hours; if it does not, residents are advised to flush all faucets in their homes for five minutes.

If the discoloration persists, residents should contact the city at 575/526-0500 for assistance. The TTY phone number is 575/541-2182.
