Mayor Keller joins Albuquerque communities for National Night Out

Tomorrow evening, Mayor Tim Keller and leaders from all City departments, along with first responders, will join communities throughout Albuquerque for National Night Out. This initiative takes place in neighborhoods across the country, encouraging residents to engage with their community and discuss public safety and crime prevention. City leaders participate annually to connect communities with local government and first responders and to educate residents about the City's efforts to build safer, stronger neighborhoods.

“Knowing your neighbors and being engaged in your community are important building blocks to create a safer city,” said Mayor Tim Keller. “We look forward to getting out and visiting neighborhoods across Albuquerque to hear about folks’ experiences and share what we’re doing to make our city safer for families.”

Public safety is a top priority for the City of Albuquerque. The City has invested in modern technology to assist officers in fighting crime, expanded the Community Safety Department to free up officers and firefighters, and made significant advancements in housing and homelessness. These efforts are part of a broader strategy to enhance street safety.

For this year’s National Night Out, the City created informational materials tailored for each area command. Included is a bifold for the newest area command, the University Area Command.
