Today, Mayor Tim Keller recognized outstanding members of the community with the Volunteer of the Month and One Albuquerque Awards. The celebration honored award recipients from June and July whose contributions and service have supported the city and helped those in need.
“These folks show us how many different ways there are to serve our community. Every volunteer is a part of what makes our city special,” said Mayor Tim Keller. “There are opportunities every day to get involved and give back to our city, and we’re ready to connect everyone to the service work that’s right for them.”
The City of Albuquerque emphasizes that impactful civic engagement can happen at any scale. Simple but effective actions in neighborhoods can create significant change, especially when everyone gets involved. The City is dedicated to connecting residents with service opportunities in their neighborhoods by partnering with various departments and community organizations. Whether it’s adopting a local bus stop, volunteering at an animal shelter, or assisting at a neighborhood library, there are numerous ways for residents to contribute.
