The UNM Anderson School of Management, represented by faculty member Robert DelCampo and partner John Chavez from New Mexico Startup Factory, has secured a victory in Stage One of the U.S. Small Business Administration’s 2024 Growth Accelerator Fund competition.
This SBA Fund competition is a community-oriented initiative designed to promote entrepreneurial endeavors. It aims to support small businesses by forming strategic partnerships that help launch, grow, and scale STEM-based ventures. The competition acknowledges organizations that provide equitable access to entrepreneurial opportunities for small enterprises.
DelCampo and Chavez submitted an application consisting of a video and presentation titled “Fueling Inclusive Innovation: A Roadmap for Diverse Participation in New Mexico’s Emerging National and Economic Security Ecosystem.”
“We’re excited and honored to win the SBA Growth Accelerator competition. Working with our friends at the New Mexico Startup Factory gives us the unique opportunity to accelerate the state's national security entrepreneurial ecosystem,” said DelCampo.
The team has been awarded $50,000 in prize money and will advance to Stage Two, where they will compete for additional cash prizes ranging from $50,000 to $150,000.
