Schaljo-Hernandez, Christopher, District 1 Commissioner - Chair | Doña Ana County

The Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Office (DASO) has initiated sobriety checkpoints and saturation patrols at the start of May, a program that will run until the end of the month. This initiative aims to decrease the number of accidents, injuries, and fatalities associated with Driving While Intoxicated (DWI).

These checkpoints will be strategically placed in undisclosed locations within Doña Ana County, operating between 12 p.m. and 2 a.m. During these hours, deputies will be vigilant for all types of violations, with a particular focus on identifying intoxicated drivers.

The Sheriff’s Office is urging residents to support their efforts along with other area law enforcement agencies in maintaining safe roads for everyone. They remind citizens to always use seat belts and never engage in drinking and driving.
