The Albuquerque Museum is currently showcasing "Focus on Youth," an annual juried exhibition featuring photographs and films created by high school students from the Albuquerque Public Schools (APS). Running from now until June 2, the exhibition includes nearly 100 photographs and short films showcasing a variety of techniques such as silver print, digital, and special techniques in photography, art books, and digital film.

According to Mayor Tim Keller, "Our city is home to a wealth of creative spirit, and these talented young artists reflect that." The exhibition aims to bring the ideas and perspectives of Albuquerque's youth to the public and provide a platform for students to exhibit their work in a professional museum setting.

Art teacher Karen Mazur from Albuquerque High School expressed, "The student work that you will see in Albuquerque Museum is full of compelling stories and beautiful imagery... For students to see their work professionally framed and on museum walls has such an impact."

Elizabeth Becker, curator of education at Albuquerque Museum, highlighted the importance of showcasing student artists and providing a platform for their creativity to be appreciated by a wider audience. The exhibition is part of a long-standing partnership between APS Fine Arts Department and Albuquerque Museum, emphasizing the creativity of youth photographers and filmmakers.
