U.S. News & World Report has unveiled its 2024 Best Graduate Schools rankings, highlighting several programs at The University of New Mexico. Nursing Midwifery at UNM has secured the 11th spot, with a total of 15 colleges/schools and programs ranking in the top 100.

Speaking about the rankings, a spokesperson for the publication mentioned, "The rankings focus only on graduate programs, as opposed to other rankings released from U.S. News and World Report that focus on undergraduate and online programs. The publication releases rankings every year but focuses on different programs with each release."

Other notable programs at UNM that made it into the top 100 include Education at No. 86, Business (part-time MBA) at No. 87, and Law (Full-time) at No. 94. The rankings cover academic disciplines such as Business, Education, Law, and Nursing.

In addition to these rankings, U.S. News & World Report also released survey-based rankings for various disciplines including Pharmacy, Speech Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy, and Computer Science. These rankings are based on surveys of academic leaders in the respective fields.

Notable improvements for UNM include Physical Therapy, which climbed 45 spots, and Speech-Language Pathology, which rose by 20 spots. The rankings are based on expert opinions about program excellence and statistical indicators measuring the quality of faculty, research, and student outcomes.

The data for these rankings were derived from statistical surveys of 2,225 programs and reputation surveys sent to academics and professionals. UNM encourages anyone aware of a program listed in the 2024 Best Graduate Schools rankings to provide additional information for consideration.

The publication has announced a delay in the release of rankings for Engineering, Medicine, and Clinical Psychology, with a promise to reveal them at a later date.
