The ABQ BioPark is currently seeking Camp Teachers for their upcoming programs. According to the announcement, all spring break camp teachers must be available to work from April 1-5, while summer teachers must attend training in May and be available for work from the week of June 3 to July 26. The positions are open for both full-time and part-time applicants.
Applicants are required to have a minimum of two years of major coursework in science, education, or a related field, along with 3-6 months of teaching experience, formal or informal, preferably in the sciences. Successful candidates must also pass a background check. The selected Camp BioPark Teachers will be responsible for conducting week-long day camps for various grade levels, developing and implementing lesson plans, promoting conservation through experiential learning, maintaining a safe learning environment, and engaging children in active, inquiry-based activities.
The work schedule for teachers will be Monday to Friday, with varying hours depending on the camp assignment. The pay rate for the position is $16 per hour, with the number of hours per week varying based on the assignment.
