The ABQ BioPark is currently seeking individuals to fill the position of Teen Volunteer Facilitator. The role involves overseeing the BioPark Nature Guides, teen volunteers aged 14 to 18, in collaboration with BioPark staff. According to the requirements listed, applicants must have a minimum of two years of major coursework in science, education, or a related field, as well as 3-6 months of teaching experience, preferably in the sciences. All applicants are also required to pass a background check.

The selected facilitators will be responsible for developing and conducting training classes for Nature Guides, facilitating their daily teaching activities, and ensuring their engagement and challenge. The facilitators will rotate their work site weekly between the Zoo, Aquarium, and Botanic Garden, and will be expected to communicate effectively with BioPark Education staff, volunteers, and parents/guardians. Additionally, they will be involved in providing certificates and letters of appreciation for closing ceremonies, as well as performing general administrative tasks associated with the BioPark Nature Guide Program.

The work schedule for the facilitators is set from Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with up to 40 hours per week. The Nature Guide Program will run from June 3 to August 3, with paid training and preparation time available starting May 7. The pay rate for this position is $16 per hour, with hours per week varying based on assignment.
