Bernalillo County Treasurer Nancy Bearce is reminding property owners of the upcoming opportunities for the 2024 tax season. The Monthly Payment Program (MPP) sign-up for taxpayers will commence on March 1 and will run through August 31, 2024. Bearce emphasizes that automatic payments, also known as auto pay, are available for all property tax payments.
"With the Monthly Payment Program, taxpayers have the option to pay their property taxes in 10 monthly installments, starting June 1, 2024, to March 1, 2025," Bearce explained. She highlighted the convenience and flexibility of the MPP, stating that it offers various payment methods, with the automatic payment option being the preferred and completely free choice. By providing a voided check on the MPP form, taxpayers can ensure that their property taxes are automatically paid monthly through their chosen bank account.
Bearce also outlined another payment option for taxpayers, which involves mailing in their monthly check or money order with a provided coupon to the Treasurer's Office. The coupons come preprinted with essential information such as the address, parcel number, and monthly due date, enhancing taxpayer convenience.
Property owners can choose to mail their monthly payments, pay online, or visit the Alvarado Square in person. The MPP application is available in both English and Spanish on the Bernalillo County Treasurer's website. Interested individuals are encouraged to fill out the form and either mail it to the office or visit in person at Alvarado Square.
For those seeking more information on the Monthly Payment Program, the Treasurer's Office can be contacted via phone at 505-468-7031 or through email at treasurers@bernco.gov. Additional details can be found on the Treasurer's website, including investment results and insights into where tax dollars are allocated.
As the 2024 tax season approaches, Bernalillo County property owners are encouraged to explore the available payment options and take advantage of the flexibility offered by the Monthly Payment Program.
