The New Mexico Department of Agriculture (NMDA) announced the second edition of the New Mexico Taste the Tradition Holiday Lookbook, providing residents with a 58-page online gift guide showcasing locally grown and crafted products. The lookbook is released as part of an initiative that aims to encourage support for businesses within the state, offering consumers the opportunity to explore unique gifts made in New Mexico.

The collection of local produce and crafts goes beyond what one might expect. The 2023 edition of the lookbook showcases businesses previously featured at the New Mexico State Fair's Country Store in Albuquerque. Beyond New Mexico products, the book introduces NEW MEXICO—Taste the Tradition Chef Ambassadors Jon Young and Jordan Isaacson on pages six and eight. Selected for the second class of the NMDA’s Chef Ambassador program in early 2023, these chefs contribute with unique recipes and cooking demonstrations, according to a press release by NMDA.

This project has not only given exposure to local businesses but also brought them together for collaborative efforts. "We’re delighted to be a part of the NEW MEXICO—Taste the Tradition program," said Snugglecubs Cookies owners Bill and Sue Slauson, according to a press release by NMDA. "Snugglecubs’ journey as a member has been proof of the power of collaboration, and it’s great to be able to participate in a collective project like this lookbook. Take a look and join us in celebrating the sweet taste of tradition and the joy of giving back this holiday season."

One such enterprise highlighted in this collaboration is Snugglecubs Cookies. Snugglecubs Cookies, a family-owned and -operated business located in Albuquerque, will be featured in the lookbook, according to a press release by NMDA.

The impact of this initiative is clearly seen through the enthusiastic participation of these businesses.
