Linda Stover, the Bernalillo County Clerk, is reminding residents that the voter registration deadline for the upcoming Regular Local Election is approaching. According to a press release, eligible voters can take advantage of a convenient option to register and vote on the same day.

"For those who prefer in-person absentee voting, the Clerk’s Annex will be open from Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.," announced Bernalillo County.

The voter registration deadline for the November 7 Regular Local Election is set for October 10. On that date, the Clerk's Office will initiate the mailing of absentee ballots to those who have made requests.

"As of October 10, no further online or in-person voter registrations will be accepted. However, there’s no need to panic if you’ve missed this deadline. Starting on October 10, same-day registration will be available at the Clerk’s Annex at 1500 Lomas Boulevard Northwest Suite A," said Clerk Linda Stover.

Linda Stover assumed the role of Bernalillo County Clerk in December 2016 with a commitment to enhance community engagement in the Bureau of Elections, boost voter registration and turnout, and improve public access to Recording and Filing records. During her tenure, she has overseen transparent and equitable elections, introducing initiatives such as a mobile voting unit and organizing Civic Plaza events for National Voter Registration Day, all aimed at fostering greater civic participation, according to the Clerk's Office.

In recognition of her efforts, Linda Stover has received multiple awards for her educational initiatives and outreach programs. She was awarded the 2020 Civic Education and Public Information Achievement Award from the National Association of Counties (NACo) for the Bernalillo County About My County Activity Book, which was distributed to all 4th-grade students in Albuquerque Public Schools. In 2022, she received another NACo Achievement Award for her outreach program, "We're All in This Together: Voting Through the 2020 Pandemic," ensuring voters were well informed about COVID-safe voting practices, according to the Clerk's Office.

With the voter registration deadline approaching, Bernalillo County residents are encouraged to register as soon as possible to ensure their participation in the upcoming Regular Local Election.
