In a groundbreaking collaboration, Project ECHO has partnered with the World Health Organization (WHO) to establish the WHO Collaborating Center for Digital Learning in Health Emergencies. This center, located at an academic institution in New Mexico, aims to enhance emergency preparedness and response through digital learning. It is the first of its kind, dedicated to this specific area of focus.

Led by Project ECHO, the Collaborating Center will be responsible for developing and implementing digital learning programs. The WHO will contribute its program content and subject matter experts, while Project ECHO will utilize its expertise in strategic planning and creating digital learning initiatives. This partnership will ensure that member states are well-prepared for future health crises.

The center will utilize the ECHO Model's virtual communities of practice, webinars, and online tools to provide technical assistance and training, particularly in regions with limited resources and dispersed locations. Project ECHO will also play a role in monitoring and evaluating digital learning activities, as well as sharing best practices and lessons learned in digital education.

Dr. Sanjeev Arora, the Founder and Director of Project ECHO, expressed his pride in launching this collaborative center. He emphasized the success of their partnership with the WHO in addressing the challenges posed by COVID-19 and preparing for future pandemics. This new initiative represents a significant step forward in leveraging digital learning to improve global health emergencies.

Overall, the establishment of the WHO Collaborating Center for Digital Learning in Health Emergencies marks a milestone in the integration of technology and healthcare. By harnessing the power of digital platforms, this collaboration aims to strengthen global emergency response capabilities and ensure that healthcare professionals are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to tackle health crises effectively.
