The Economic Development Department (EDD) in Albuquerque has recently received six international awards for their outstanding efforts in workforce development, small business support, and the film industry. These honors were bestowed upon the EDD by the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) on September 20, 2023, according to a press release from the City of Albuquerque.

The Albuquerque Film Office, which is part of the EDD, was recognized with a silver award for their "We Are Albuquerque Film" campaign and a bronze award for hosting the 'Stranger Things' Season 4 Premiere event at the KiMo Theatre in downtown Albuquerque.
