The University of New Mexico (UNM) is pleased to welcome Melanie Hitchcock as the new Senior Director of Development for the Anderson School of Management. In her new role, Hitchcock will be responsible for leading fundraising efforts for the school, according to a recent press release.

Hitchcock has a strong connection to UNM, as she moved to New Mexico 23 years ago to pursue her MBA at the Anderson School. After graduating in 2001, she worked as the sole fundraiser for the local Alzheimer's Association chapter before joining the Presbyterian Healthcare Foundation, where she spent the majority of her career. During her time with the Presbyterian Foundation, Hitchcock led the annual giving team and played a key role in organizing special events.

In her new position, Hitchcock is excited to work with donors and fellow alumni to support students in achieving success in their careers. She believes that education is crucial for New Mexico to address the challenges that young people will face in the future. Her extensive knowledge and dedication to philanthropy make her a valuable addition to the team, according to Julie Coonrod, Anderson interim dean.

Larry Ryan, vice president for University Development at the UNM Foundation, also expressed his confidence in Hitchcock's ability to lead fundraising efforts at Anderson. He believes that her professional background and status as an Anderson graduate uniquely qualify her for the role.

With Melanie Hitchcock now leading the fundraising efforts, the Anderson School of Management at UNM is poised to make significant strides in supporting its students and advancing its mission.
