Albuquerque-based Verus Research has announced that it awarded $50,000 to the New Mexico Museum of Natural History Foundation as the Presenting Sponsor of the Verus Research DynaTheater, according to a release by the New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs.
“The New Mexico Museum of Natural History Foundation is grateful for this generous support from Verus Research,” Abigail Eaton, CEO of the New Mexico Museum of Natural History Foundation, said in the release. “Over the years, Verus Research has been a valuable partner. We’re so appreciative of their vision and support of our mission.”
The DynaTheater, located within the New Mexico Museum of Natural History & Science, is a 3-D digital, large-format theater, located at 1801 Mountain Rd NW in Albuquerque. It accommodates up to 270 guests and showcases educational films daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Popular film titles currently featured include Secrets of the Sea, Everest, and Dinosaurs of Antarctica. The theater welcomes than 20,000 visitors annually, according to the release.
Verus Research has a team of scientists and research engineers with experience in advanced electromagnetic simulation and analysis, microwave system modeling, design, and implementation, nuclear systems analysis, radiation effects, multidisciplinary systems integration, and more. Verus Research has been the presenter of the DynaTheater since 2019, the release stated.
The New Mexico Museum of Natural History Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, dedicated to "advancing the Museum's cultural, educational, and scientific programs and objectives," the release stated.
The New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs is "building a more vibrant, resilient New Mexico by improving the quality of life, supporting a culturally rich education, strengthening the creative economy, fostering a diversity of expression, and preserving our cultural resources," according to its website. Created in 1978 by the New Mexico Legislature, the Department of Cultural Affairs "represents New Mexico's dedication to preserving and celebrating the cultural integrity and diversity," in New Mexico.
