Jess “Gene” Fonseca, age 67, born in Eades, Colorado, and a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away May 31, 2023. Jess is survived by his wife of 44 years Vivian; children Laurie Fonseca and companion T.J. York, Vanessa Fonseca-Chávez and husband Raúl, Felicia Fonseca and companion
Sky Yazzie, and Jess Fonseca and wife Carissa; grandchildren Kendyl, Isaiah, Lazaro, Taj, Jesiah and Isabella; and siblings Kathy Fonseca and Tom “Bones” Cruz. He was preceded in death by his daughter Leticia Fonseca and brother Max Cruz. Visitation will be held in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, 1000 Old Coors Dr. SW on Friday, June 9, 2023, at 6:30 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. Final visitation will be held at 8:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco Dr. SW on Saturday, June 10, 2023, with Mass of the Resurrection to be celebrated at 9 a.m.
