The Lil Aztec Flower Shop has a list of 29 seniors who could enjoy a happy Valentine's Day with the help of residents of the San Juan region.

Anyone looking to spread joy can purchase flowers for a senior at Aztec Healthcare from the New Mexico flower shop.

“Help bring joy to the residents of Aztec Healthcare by sending them an arrangement this Valentine’s Day,” owner Susan Aguirre told KOB 4 recently. “It just brings joy to these people that wouldn’t get a valentine, so we are sending love.”

Receiving flowers, especially on Valentine’s Day, can be uplifting for both the recipient and the sender. The sponsored senior will receive a beautiful rose arrangement in a bud vase and a personalized message for only $17.99.

“It’s everything, it’s love personified,” Aguirre said. “I mean, show me a flower you don’t like. If you ask most people when they got flowers, they can tell you from what time it was to who sent them, so they make a large impression.”

Aguirre and her granddaughter Amber got the idea of sending flowers to seniors, especially those who have no family or daily support.

“It made me realize that they may not feel as comfortable, or they might feel lonely,” Amber said.

Aguirre added that the goal of the promotion is to bring joy to Aztec Healthcare residents with a Valentine’s Day arrangement.

“I would encourage anyone out there that you live by a senior home, or you know a senior, send them a flower, let them have a valentine,” Aguirre said.
