Three Pojoaque High School graduates were selected to pitch their business on Shark Tank and came home with a bite.
Aaron and Tony Gonzales appeared on the popular television show to pitch their business Slick Barrier to Mark Cuban, Robert Herjavec, Kevin O’Leary, Lori Greiner and Daymond John for an investment.
Slick Barrier is a pest control solution Aaron and Tony started in Arizona after Aaron purchased a home for his family that became infested with scorpions. After Tony’s 4-year-old son was bitten by a scorpion and nearly died, Aaron and Tony began working with chemists to come up with a solution to stop the unwelcome intruders. The company was officially launched in 2018 but needed help from the sharks to continue.
They are now reportedly working with Greiner. Their episode was filmed last fall.
“It’s definitely a lot different than what it shows on TV,” Aaron said. "We’re up there for a lot longer time than what it shows on television but we were really, really excited to get the shark Lori that we ended up with,” Aaron Gonzales told KRQE.
When applied to the bottom of a home, Slick Barrier dries smooth and clear, so bugs and other critters can’t climb into a home. Shark Tank cited an independent study that said the product is 100% effective.
