Obituary
Gilbert Gutierrez, 68, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, was called to be with his Tata Dios on Friday, July 8, 2022. He entered this world on Friday, April 16, 1954, in Chilili, NM, born to Pedro and Manuelita Gutierrez. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Gutierrez; daughter, Juanita Lucero; son-in-law, Jarrod Killebrew; grandson, Julian Sanders and wife, Anna Sanders; granddaughter, Destiny Lucero; granddaughter, Kaydence Killebrew; daughter, Julianita Aragon; son-in-law, Abraham Aragon; grandson, Emiliano Aragon; granddaughter, Mariella Aragon; siblings; nieces; nephews; and many other family and friends. Gilbert served in the National Guard from October 1973 - October 1979.
Gilbert was a man of faith and integrity who always honored his word. He was steadfast in his beliefs and had a passion for music. Gilbert spoke with wisdom and humor. He respected the land. He was a natural historian and strong advocate for all Land Grants, especially La Merced De Pueblo De Chilili. You would often find Gilbert surrounded by his familia, in his beloved mountains, or on the dance floor.
His life was a true legacy of honor, strength, familia, and live each day likes there's no tomorrow. He was a true inspiration, and our lives will not be the same without him. We are at peace knowing he is dancing in a much better place. We will forever treasure the many stories, guidance, and lasting memories he blessed us with.
A Viewing will be held on Monday, July 18, 2022, 5:00 p.m., at FRENCH-Lomas. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, July 21, 2022, 10:00 am, also at FRENCH-Lomas.
