Obituary

Marc B. Tiefa, 67, born February 27, 1954 and passed away Sunday evening, January 23rd, 2022. Marc had a long battle with Parkinsons and Dementia. He is now free of pain and at peace. He is survived by his wife, Lynda Tiefa; daughter, Alexis Tiefa; mother, Carol Graham; sister, Cathleen Tiefa, and brother, Kurt Tiefa. He is preceded by his father, Burnell Tiefa, and son, Aaron Tiefa. Memorial will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2022 from 2-4pm at French Funerals. Honoring COVID concerns, we will be live streaming the service and slideshow. Please contact Lynda or Alexis for the link.

Marc was born in Berkeley, CA and lived in Denver, CO before moving to Albuquerque, NM in 1962. He attended Collet Park Elementary, Jackson Jr. High School, and in 1972 was among the FIRST graduating class of Eldorado High School. He was on the first EHS Basketball and Baseball teams. He was involved in Mile High Little League and continued his love for the sport by playing in various Softball leagues and met many great friends along the way. Other sports he enjoyed playing were golf and racquetball. He participated in local tournaments in these sports and continued for many years. Other passions were Scuba and Skiing that he and Lynda enjoyed doing together.

Outside of participating in sports, Marc watched Formula 1 races from around the world. His favorite racetrack was Monaco and had a chance to see a race in person in Indianapolis, IN. Around the house he enjoyed listening to Muddy Waters, Stevie Ray Vaughn, and Jimmy Hendrix. He also enjoyed seeing local artists perform like Levi Platero and Chris Dracup.

Marc was known as a funny guy. You could always count on him to have a joke or Three Stooges reference ready. He was fond of reciting lines from favorite movies like Young Frankenstein, Airplane, and In Living Color.

Marc attended University of New Mexico and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Recreation which led him to a career with the City of Albuquerque. Later he worked as a Travel Agent which permitted him to take his family on many memorable vacations. He also was a local paper carrier for 35+ years around the local Albuquerque northeast heights area.

He was liked by all that knew him and had many friends.

We suggest that everyone dress in a Hawaiian shirt, or a golf, baseball, Formula 1, or Three Stooges apparel-something that reminds you of him. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either Parkinson's Connections of Central NM, Junior Golf Programs, or any other of your choice (Mile High Little League, Senior Affairs, Racquetball league, Scuba, etc). Speaking and Slideshow will begin around 2:30pm.
