An Albuquerque native best known for her ferocity in the UFC is set to be inducted  into the International Boxing Hall of Fame (IBHOF) next year.

Holly Holm, also known as “The Preacher’s Daughter,” will be one of eight boxers  welcomed into the Boxing Hall of Fame during the week of June 9-12, 2022, according to IBHOF.

Edward Brophy, executive director for the IBHOF said they were looking forward to honoring the class with the sport’s ultimate honor.

“We’re extremely excited about the Class of 2022 and are very much looking forward to honoring the newest class of inductees to earn boxing’s highest honor,” Brophy said, according to IBHOF.

Holm is best known for defeating Ronda Rousey as a huge underdog in the UFC and was a UFC bantamweight champion who carved out a name in the sport as a three-division world champion, according to MMA Fighting.

“When I first started, my punches seemed real clumsy, but Mr. (Mike) Winkeljohn is a great instructor. He helped me with my technique, and he felt he could work with me,” Holm stated on her website.

MMA Junkie reported that she was welcomed into the New Mexico Sports Hall of Fame with the class of 2019.
