The Lobos women’s soccer team was well represented when the Mountain West announced the 2021 All-Conference teams and individual awards this week.

The soccer team led the conference with 10 awards, the press release said, as they placed seven players on the All-Conference team along with garnering three individual awards for the squad.

Jadyn Edwards, Emily Johnson, Alexa Kirton, Karlee Maes and Gwen Maly all made the All-Conference First Team.

Heather Dyche earned Coach of the Year, Jadyn Edwards earned Offensive Player of the Year and Zaria Katesigwa earned Newcomer of the Year, just the second time in the Lobos' women's soccer program history that New Mexico has earned three of the four individual awards, the press release said.

Dyche had also won Coach of the Year for the 2020 season.

Edwards leads the Mountain West in shots (76), shots on goal (34), goals (10), and points (28), and Katesigwa has the most game-winning goals (3) and points (19) by any freshman in the conference.

For both Johnson and Maes, this is their second All-Conference First-Team award with the first coming last year.
