The New Mexico Lobos football team’s offensive woes continued with a 36-7 home loss to Colorado State.

The loss on Oct. 16 brings UNM’s current skid to five games, KRQE reported.

Head coach Danny Gonzales didn’t mince words when it came to the Lobos’ struggle when it comes to putting up points.

"We scored one offensive touchdown in the last 15 quarters of football,” Gonzales told KRQE. “I have never been around that, so its (sic) frustrating.”

The lone touchdown Gonzales spoke of was by true freshman and local product Luke Wysong on a 63-yard punt return touchdown in the second quarter.

Backup quarterback CJ Montes, who stepped in action in placed of the injured Terry Wilson, had a nightmare of an afternoon, going for just 11 yards and two interceptions on 3-19 passing.

The Rams, in contrast, put on a clinic when they had the ball to the tune of 452 yards of offense.

The loss drops the Lobos to 2-5 overall and 0-2 in Mountain West play. They face Wyoming on the road on Oct. 23 at 1:30 p.m.
