Lobos senior guard Saquan Singleton said he has been practicing his shooting and is ready to help the Lobos address one of their biggest weaknesses for the upcoming season.

KRQE News reports that shooting was the teams biggest weakness last year and that new Lobos Basketball coach Richard Pitino said that he plans to play Singleton wherever he is needed due to Singleton's versatility as a player.

"I definitely worked on that so much, you know, this whole summer,” Singleton said, according to KRQE News. “I didn’t go back home I’m still here. Worked on it really a lot because I see how they played me last year, but they definitely aren’t going to play me like that this year.”

Pitino said that Singleton is eager to get involved and be a leader.

“He’s got great leadership ability. He’s easy to get along with,” Pitino said, according to KRQE News “You don’t ask him, you know, he wants to get involved in recruiting. He wants to get involved in being a leader. He’s got all the intangibles that you’re looking for. He has the presence of a guy who’s played college basketball before.”

The basketball season will begin during the “Weekend of Basketball” scheduled for Oct. 30 and 31.
