A man accused of opening fire in downtown Albuquerque and damaging the Bernalillo County Alvarado Square building faces a slew of charges.
KRQE reported that anonymous tips led authorities to arrest Noah Tapia, who is charged with criminal damage to property, shooting at a dwelling or occupied building, conspiracy, and tampering with evidence.
Video of an individual shooting a rifle out of a vehicle window led to Crime Stoppers tips indicating that the driver had a public Facebook account, which led authorities to make an ID, the station additionally reported.
According to authorities, a photo was also uploaded to the Facebook account that showed the same male holding the weapons and standing on top of the parking garage where shots were allegedly fired at the county building.
Tapia surrendered to law enforcement on Oct.12 after Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office identified him as the Facebook account holder.
The estimated damages to the building have come in at a preliminary cost of $45,000, according to KRQE.
