Every year, on the third Saturday in October, Dia del Rio takes on a variety of conservation activities, and this year is no different.
"Join the Open Space Division & the @abqbiopark for Dia del Rio, a day of volunteer projects. ... There will be activities for all ages including native shrub planting, trash clean-up & more," the City of Albuquerque tweeted.
The event, the location of which changes each year according to conservation needs, will be held Oct. 16 at Rio Grande Valley State Park from 8:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. and is for all ages.
Educational activities will follow shrub planting, trash pick-up, and trail maintenance. If planning to attend, bring gloves, a sack lunch, sun protection and water.
