The push to get more New Mexicans registered to vote is ongoing with a local election less than four weeks away.
Early voting in-person began Oct. 5 and may expand in some counties from Oct. 16 to Oct. 30. The Bernalillo County Clerk's Office had set up in Civic Plaza on Tuesday, Sept. 28 during National Voter Registration Day to help get residents ready for the upcoming election.
"This affects your everyday life — your taxes, your water bill, your real estate taxes. Everything is on this ballot," Linda Stover, the Bernalillo County Clerk told KOAT 7. "There's no reason not to go out and vote," she added, given the ease of the absentee voting process.

Officials encouraged voters to educate themselves on the relevant issues before voting.
"It's really important before you go to the polls, you do your research" Cyprian Devine-Perez of the non partisan League of Women Voters told KOAT 7.
The ballot in Bernalillo County will be two pages long, showing the breadth of issues at stake in the election, the station reported.
Absentee ballots in New Mexico must be requested. Voters can do so at NMvote.org.
