A judge has recently threatened  to sanction Backstreet Grill's attorney, Ana Garner, after she sent a "shocking" letter to the court, according to a report by KOB4.

In her letter, Garner described Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham as a "phony," compared the enforcement of the governor's mask mandate to Nazi Germany and claimed the vaccinations were experimental gene therapy.

"I just wanted to show them, you want to play insane? I can play insane too. So I wanted it to be shocking,” Garner told KOB4. "And yes, I liberally used a couple of swear words."

Garner's letter was written in response to State District Judge Nancy Franchini's order that city public utilities discontinue service to the Albuquerque Old Town restaurant following its refusal to follow the governor's mask mandate at the beginning of the pandemic, according to a previous report by the New Mexico Sun.

The judge in the case requested that Garner apologize to the court and withdraw the letter, or face potential sanctions; Garner withdrew the letter but maintained that she still "meant every word of it."

Garner also stated that Backstreet Grill is closed and has no plans to reopen; however, the restaurant's legal team is considering suing the city and state over the closure.
