The city of Albuquerque recently announced that it will make an effort to assist residents, and in particular immigrant families, who did not receive federal stimulus funds, according to a KRQE report.

An Albuquerque Economic Department press release stated that more than $4 million in American Rescue Plan Act funding has been allocated for families who were previously unable to qualify for stimulus funds to alleviate financial hardships.

"The City of Albuquerque is distributing direct financial relief to households facing financial hardship because of COVID-19," a press release from Albuquerque Economic Department said. "Eligible households will receive $1,000. The application will be open until Sept. 28, 2021, and applications will be randomized for approval. If you are a recipient of these funds, you are agreeing to take a survey in November 2021." ‌

A household's income must be less than $75,000 for the 2020 tax year in order to be eligible for the program. Applications will be accepted until Sept. 28 and will be randomized for approval, according to the release.
