No. 7 Texas A&M brings 'A-game,' blanks Lobos football

The nationally-ranked Texas A&M Aggies defeated the New Mexico Lobos 34-0 on Sept. 18, according to Sports Illustrated.

Both teams came into the game with hopes of starting the season 3-0, with the Lobos being considered the underdog, according to a KRQE report.

In a pre-game interview, Aggies headcoach Jimbo Fisher cautioned against underestimating the Lobos after a reporter covering the No. 7 Aggies suggested that the Lobos were more of a "tune-up" for the regular season.

“New Mexico is 2-0. They’ve won four in a row and they are a pain in the tail guys,” Fisher said. “I keep saying it. They twist, blunt, stunt upfront for your linemen and quarterbacks in blitz packages as much as anybody we will play anywhere.”

Fisher also stated that "you better bring your A-game" to every game, and Saturday's match was no exception.

The Aggies hosted at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday in College Station.
