One suspect has been named after four Albuquerque Police Department officers were injured while responding to a robbery call on Aug. 19.

James Ramirez, of California, is named as the suspected shooter of three of the officers responding to an incident at Dutch Brothers near Mountain and Juan Tabo, according to KRQE

Mario Verbeck is in critical condition after being shot in the neck; James Eichel was shot in the arm; Sean Kenney was shot in his bulletproof vest; and Harry Gunderson suffered shrapnel wounds.

"We know this ripples through the entire community. The entire central New Mexico area is either certainly right in a state of shock or a state of grieving, or frankly, a state of fear," Albuquerque Mayor Keller said during a press conference.

Ramirez's charges include three counts of aggravated battery on a police officer, assault with intent to commit a violent felony, felony possession of a firearm and with resisting a police officer, in addition to robbery charges.

Another suspect is in custody, but a name has not been released, KRQE reported.

"We don't have any indication that there is any other shooter out in the community," Albuquerque Police Chief Harold Medina said during the press conference.

The Albuquerque Police Officers Association released a statement on Facebook following the incident.

"Crime is out of control in Albuquerque," Rep. Stefani Lord (R-NM) said in the Facebook post. "It's time for the Dem politicians to address this issue. You can start with the horrific bail reform that is a revolving door for criminals. Republicans presented 10 bills to lower crime and Dems voted no."

Bernalillo County District Attorney Raul Torrez also weighed in, according to KRQE.

"A lot of times there is information that passersby may have had, other people in local businesses may have video, and so I know there are going to officers canvassing this area, but if you saw anything, if you were in the area of the crime, please report that to 242-COPS," Torrez said. “It’s incredibly important that we get that information to these investigators as quickly as possible. That’s what’s going to enable these individuals to be apprehended and brought to justice.”
