U.S. Eagle Federal Credit Union is looking to help New Mexico public school teachers purchase education resources and activities for their classrooms by offering them money through a grant program.

This is the third year for the enrichED® program that offers ten eligible educators $1,000 to help overcome the challenges of buying classroom materials when faced with a lack of funding, according to a press release

"Teachers spend their own money in the classroom, trying to prevent students from falling behind," Marsha Majors, U.S. Eagle Federal Credit Union President and CEO, said in the release. "As leaders in our community we feel compelled to step up and support them."

The grant can be used for classroom items including technology, equipment, supplies, and books. In order to qualify, applicants need to be a full-time educator at a public or charter school in either Bernalillo, Cibola, San Juan, Sandoval, Santa Fe, Torrance, or Valencia counties.

Applications for the enrichED® grant program are being accepted through Sept. 13. The winners are set to be announced the week of Sept. 27 with a special celebration planned during the New Mexico United soccer match on Oct. 30, the press release stated.
