U.S. Representative Teresa Leger Fernández, who has served New Mexico’s 3rd congressional district since 2021, addressed a range of policy issues in a series of tweets posted in early December 2025.
On December 3, Rep. Leger Fernández commented on the impact of trade policies on American families and small businesses, stating, "This season, families should be celebrating — not carrying the cost of Trump’s reckless trade war. Small businesses are struggling to stay afloat, and prices keep climbing. It’s time for an economy that supports holiday traditions, instead of making them harder."
Two days later, on December 5, she criticized the Trump administration's stance on vaccines: "The Trump administration is only spreading fear and misinformation with this decision. There are decades of research that prove vaccines are safe and effective. Do not let their fear mongering determine your children’s health."
Later that same day, Rep. Leger Fernández highlighted her participation in a community event at Santo Domingo Pueblo: "What a joy to be in Santo Domingo Pueblo today to celebrate the opening of their new Early Child Care Center. This is what’s possible when tribal, local, state, and federal partners unite to invest in families. Child care is the work that makes all other work possible..."
Leger Fernández has maintained her seat through several election cycles. In 2024, she won against Sharon Clahchischilliage by a narrow margin; previous victories include defeating Alexis Martinez Johnson in both the 2022 and 2020 general elections.
