The New Mexico Human Services Department is organizing three public forums to gather input on behavioral health needs. These meetings aim to collect feedback on how the state can improve support for individuals dealing with serious mental illness, severe emotional disturbance, substance use disorder, or brain injuries. The feedback will contribute to the Behavioral Health Assessment and Feasibility Study report, scheduled for release in January 2026.
Medicaid members, providers, stakeholders, and interested parties are invited to participate in the virtual public meetings. Registration is required at bit.ly/BHFS2025. Participants will receive Zoom webinar login details upon registration and should select a session that aligns with their role.
The sessions are as follows: Providers and Managed Care Plan Listening Session from noon to 1 p.m. MST on December 9; Individuals, Family Members, and Caregivers Listening Session from 9:30-10:30 a.m. MST on December 10; Tribal Partners Listening Session from noon to 1 p.m. MST on December 11. Registration is available at bit.ly/BHFS2025.
Written comments can be submitted via email to stakeholdercomment@manatt.com by 5 p.m. MST on Thursday, December 11. Respondents are encouraged to share insights on strengths and gaps in New Mexico’s current behavioral health system and suggest changes.
