The Albuquerque International Sunport has opened three new retail shops, aiming to highlight the city’s neighborhoods and local businesses. The stores—Globo Mercado, Nob Hill Necessities, and Roadrunner Express—were launched with a ribbon-cutting event.

Globo Mercado is designed as a travel convenience store inspired by the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, offering essential items and regional snacks. Nob Hill Necessities is a kiosk reflecting the character of the Nob Hill area. Roadrunner Express provides travelers with staffed service from 4:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., focusing on quick access to snacks, beverages, and other necessities.

“These new shops reflect the heart of Albuquerque — bright, creative and welcoming,” said Mayor Tim Keller. “We love seeing the Sunport continue to grow in ways that celebrate our culture while enhancing the travel experience for everyone who passes through.”

The new retail concepts are operated by WHSmith North America and include products from local vendors such as Mata G vegetarian kitchen and New Mexico Ferments Kombucha. This initiative continues the Sunport’s strategy of partnering with local businesses and improving amenities for passengers.

“We’re thrilled to join the Sunport’s enhanced concessions program with these new retail stores,” said Roderick McOwan, Chief Development Officer of WHSmith North America. “We want each shop to feel like a unique retail experience, and we’re proud to work with partners across the city to bring that to life. We look forward to further enhancing the retail program over the coming months alongside our local and experienced business partners.”

Aviation Acting Director Manny Manriquez added, “We’re offering our travelers more choice and convenience than ever before. Each of these ventures ties directly into ourDream of Flightvision — blending local authenticity with innovative design to make the Sunport an even more enjoyable gateway to our city.”
