Members of Trees, Water & People, an environmental organization, held a ribbon cutting at the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center on October 29. The event was organized by the Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce and included participation from Governor Thomas Moquino Jr. of Santo Domingo Pueblo.
Trees, Water & People works to educate communities about responsible stewardship of land and water resources. The group is currently seeking partners for the Capulin Canyon Watershed Restoration Project. This initiative is led by James Calabaza and involves leadership from Santo Domingo, Cochiti, and Jemez pueblos.
The Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce expressed its support for Trees, Water & People's educational mission and welcomed the organization as a new member.
